We all know the power of backilnk in search engine optimization. It is one of the best way to get high page rank. But the important fact is that why people will give you backlink for free. Yeah there are several ways to get backlink for free. Like commenting, forum signature,article submission etc. They works well. I will show you another way to get backlink. I have named this kind of backlink as “Hidden Backlink”.

It is a kind of way to spam forums and WordPress blogs. But if you use it in a smart way, there is no chance to get ban as a spammer.
In this method we will use an smiley as the anchor text of our link. Suppose that you are going to give thanks in a forum for a good post. Usually we use “Thank you” or “Good share” to give thanks.
Now do this in the following way:

Thank you for such good share  [ U R L = " Your Link Here " ] : ) [/URL]

**Just remove the spaces between letters. Like “U R L=URL”

In this way you will get a backlink to your site.

Again suppose that you are going to leave a comment in a wordpress blog. Then simply use the following line anywhere of your comment to get a hidden backlink.

“<a href=”http://google.com”>:)</a>”

It will give you another backlink and only search engines will notice about your backlink.

Now the question arrives, does this work for search engine optimization?

My answer is obviously. It is not a good quality backlink, but it is backlink. It will help you to rank high in search engines.
